Spears and Shadow is the first book in the Defenders of the Light series. How many books are you planning? And will the main character change for each book?

The Defenders of the Light series is planned to be four books, each focusing on a different main character as the Eteria faces the challenges of fighting the Shadow in the modern day. Lovers of Nora and Adam shouldn't worry though, all the characters stick around, even when the focus shifts!

Same question for Beauty and the Blade and The Talented series?

Similar answer! I also have four books planned for The Talented series, following the progression of the Talented individuals navigating the changes in Victorian London. Each book will focus on a different character (and a different fairytale), although all the characters stick around. I love Contessa and Nate too much to not have them feature heavily in subsequent installments!

What can we expect next from you?

Chaos and Crowns: Defenders of the Light #2 will be released on July 25th. The Talented #2 is also currently scheduled for October 2023, so you will certainly be hearing a lot more about that in the second half of the year. Audiobooks are currently in production for Spears and Shadows as well as Chaos and Crowns. Spears and Shadows is scheduled to release in audio format on May 23rd. While those don't have set release date for Chaos and Crowns on audio yet, I will be sure to keep you posted on social media as well as in my email newsletter. I've also recently embarked on a new project, so fans of high fantasy, sit tight!

Are your books self-published?

All my current books are published through the Mystic Owl line of City Owl Press, which is a small press. Although I am not completely self-published, I am still an unagented indie author.

How can readers help you or support you the most?

Talk about my books! If you've read and enjoyed (or even didn't enjoy) my books, leave a review and tell a friend about them. Indie authors rely on word of mouth to spread the word of our work, and I am no exception. Every social media post, review, or casual recommendation makes a difference. Believe me, I notice and appreciate them all! You can also do simple things like subscribe to my email newsletter or request my books from your local library so they can purchase and make them available for free to even more readers.

What is the best way to stay informed on your work?

I am active on social media, especially Instagram. I try to post all important updates there, so be sure to follow me if you want to know what is going on with me and my books. If you want to be one of the first people to hear about any big news, be sure to sign up for my email newsletter on the home page of this website! I share exciting bonus content, ARC signups, and cover reveals there first.
